Indigenous Operator Training Program Began

This 6 week operator training program included 16 participants from Treaty 7, Treaty 6, and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. The 6 week course provided participants with a combination of in-class instruction, simulator training, and hands-on experience on VINCI Infrastructure Ltd. equipment. Participants also received the required safety related tickets/certifications needed for site access on the Springbank Off-stream Reservoir (SR1) Project. The intent of the program is to have most (75%) of the participants hired on the SR1 Project. Given the current success of the program, another is being planned for early fall 2022. The Springbank Off-stream Reservoir (SR1) Project is thrilled to be involved in this program and supporting Indigenous training and employment.
