Location of the Highway 22 detour for the temporary bridge removal
The removal of the Temporary Bridge Deck will happen in 2 steps, which include Raising the Bridge Phase and Removal of the Bridge.
Monday (Nov 20, 2023) between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm, HWY 2 will be shut down approximately 8 times at 2-minute intervals for the raising of the bridge. Traffic will equalize between each session to ensure minimal disruption.
Wednesday (Nov 22, 2023) HWY 22 will be closed between the hours of 7 pm to 5 am. Traffic will be diverted to a detour to ensure a 2-way constant flow of traffic. Speeds will be 50km up to the detour and reduced to 30km through the temporary detour route. Flaggers will be present to help traffic movement during these activities.
